Good Morning!
Hope you all had a great MDW. It was mostly nice weather down by the Jersey Shore, spent good quality time with my wife, daughter, and our friends.
If any of you are in the area shoot me a DM to grab a drink (or five!).
A subscriber pinged me the other day asking how to revitalize his desk.
Now that MDW has passed, we are entering the “summer lull”. Between MDW, July 4th, and LDW, this is when a lot of people use the majority of their PTO since their kids are out of school.
But I don’t buy into the whole summer lull mindset.
Every manager & prospect is not OOO from today until after LDW.
Even if it’s slow and everyone you’re calling on has frozen budgets, you can still set yourself up for a nice Q3 with the activity you put in today, instead of sitting around making excuses.
So if I had to figure out a way to kickstart my desk, here’s how I’d do it:
With The MPC Method
No need to overthink it. It doesn’t matter if you’re full desk, hunting new logos, are farming large accounts.
There is no secret sauce. Just like with everything else in life, it’s all about the fundamentals and the basics.
Arguably the best way to revamp your desk is with the MPC method, aka most placeable candidate.
The reason why is that if you think it’s slow and are focusing on new BD, so is every other recruiter in the world. These prospects and hiring managers are fielding dozens of calls a day. And now with social media and the rise of recruiting influencers, many of us have the same pitches (although good, they’ve heard them all before).
So how exactly do you set yourself apart when everyone else is doing the same thing?
